Wish Fulfillment Recipient: Mr. Ng (aged 101)

Despite the fact that he lost his speech power, is difficult to swallow, and has forgotten most of the past days, the 101-year-old Mr. Ng always wishes to go out again for a dim sum lunch. The noisy environment, the smell of the food, and the accompany of the children and grandchildren bring back the warmth of the good old days.
Such a task appears to be simple but almost impossible for the family to handle due to his physical condition. His daughter sought help from the Brothers And Sisters In Christ Foundation. The consensus was agreed to make the elderly wish come true at a Shatin restaurant.
Some family members brought Ng’s diary written in his younger days, and others dug out his past calligraphy and paintings. The whole family used all these to help Mr. Ng to recall the memorable occasions. They all enjoyed the meal with laughter and tears. Our volunteers were touched by their happiness.
Our thanks go to the Hong Kong Club Foundation to support such a rare opportunity for the family. After all, not all of us can celebrate our 100th birthday. Isn’t it?
