To 76-year-old madam Chung, the past year may be the darkest period of her life while living on comprehensive social security assistance. Her husband passed away about a year ago, followed by his son months later.
Worst of all, her daughter-in-law and grandson are living in China. The family simply could not afford to pay for the quarantine hotel expenses to HK to bury their loved one. After waiting for 4 months, they knew pandemic would not go away soon. Madam Chung was in deep depression.
Thanks to donations from HK Club Foundation. Brothers And Sisters In Christ Foundation volunteers worked with social worker from Queen Elizabeth Hospital to enable the elderly to fulfil her wish. May the fond memories of her husband and son could ease her pain.
